If you can, let him suggest the idea to have a first dance at the wedding reception, but don’t let it seem like you choreographed it all along.

You must believe your intentions are noble. In fact, he might look back after the wedding and agree that having the first dance as part of the reception was one of the best things to include. Be indirect and creative in the way you ask for something and you’ll never know what else you might get.
